Most tourists travelling to Vietnam will require an entry visa, regardless of how long they plan to stay in the country. However citizens from some countries can receive a short-term visa exemption.
In this case, when you arrive at the airport you will need to fill in the Vietnam Entry and Exit forms, provide two passport-sized photos, show your passport at immigration and, in some cases, present your return flight ticket.
If you are a citizen of any of the above countries and are planning to stay in the country longer than the agreed visa-free period, you will need to apply for full visa via the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate, the E-visa or the Visa on Arrival.
For all citizens travelling to Vietnam, your passport will need to be valid for at least six months.
To have visa for Vietnam, you need 02 things: visa approval letter and the stamp of visa.
There are 02 options to get visa for Vietnam:
Visa on Arrival (VOA) is the preferred method for most travellers arriving by air, since it’s cheaper, faster and you don’t have to part with your passport by posting it to an embassy. Online visa agencies email the VOA to you directly.
It can only be used if you are flying into any of Vietnam’s six international airports, not at land crossings. The process is straightforward: you fill out an online application form and pay visa approval letter fee at cost 12 USD/ person for single entry and 20 USD/ person for multiple entry within 30 days.
Then, we will send you the visa approval letter within 5 working days. You print out and show on arrival, where you pay your visa stamping fee in US dollars, cash only. The single-entry stamping fee is US$25, a multiple-entry stamping fee is US$50.
