Where to Stay in Ninh Binh: 10 exceptional hotels & bungalows to fit any budget
Some of Northern Vietnam’s most serene views and breathtaking landscapes can be found in Ninh Binh. To accommodate the increasing number of foreign visitors, a massive number of lodgings have sprung up in Ninh Binh in recent years. It might be difficult to choose a specific property in Ninh Binh, much alone a location to stay in, especially with the abundance of Tam Coc hotels with identical names and looks. We put up a list of 12 top-notch lodging choices in the well-liked Tam Coc-Bich Dong neighborhood, suitable for all price ranges to answer the question Where to stay in Ninh Binh?
Deciding where to stay in Ninh Binh
When deciding where to stay in Ninh Binh, travelers have three options: Tam Coc, a tiny town located about 7 km from Ninh Binh City, Ninh Binh City (also known as Thanh Pho Ninh Binh, the capital of Ninh Binh Province and the primary transit hub), or farther away.
Ninh Binh city
All trains arrive and depart from this location, as do the majority of Hanoi’s buses. If you have an early departure or are arriving late at night, staying in the city makes sense.
Apart from local cuisine, Ninh Binh isn’t the most attractive city and doesn’t have much to offer visitors. You will feel as far removed from nature as possible if you stay in the concrete jungle, and Ninh Binh is not about that.
Tam Coc
If you still find where to stay in Ninh Binh for the best experience, our answer for you is Tam Coc. Tam Coc is situated near Mua Caves and Tam Coc-Bich Dong, one of Ninh Binh’s two well-liked boat trips. It takes around fifteen minutes by vehicle from the city. Selecting lodging that allows you to fully immerse yourself in Tam Coc’s breathtaking scenery will enhance the uniqueness of your trip.
In Tam Coc hamlet, hundreds of establishments only serve visitors, and many places to stay are close by on foot. There is an abundance of alternatives for pubs and tourist-friendly dining for visitors.
The backpacker atmosphere in Tam Coc is the main drawback of visiting. The drinking culture and touristic vibe might not be to your taste, depending on how you like to travel.
Taking everything into account, I sincerely believe that Tam Coc is the ideal location for your vacation in Ninh Binh. Tam Coc provides a nice mix of nature and convenience, and I believe the neighborhood around Tam Coc has enough semi-secluded choices to offset the main street’s too-touristic vibe.
Further afield
Additionally, lodging is dispersed northward toward Trang An and Hoa Lu. These hotels, which are nestled among the rice fields of Ninh Binh, offer a more exclusive vibe and are typically more expensive as a result.
You’ll have fewer food and drink alternatives while you’re alone. To see the sites, you will also need to rent your own vehicle.

The Tam Coc boat port is not far from this Vietnamese guesthouse. Simple bungalow-style accommodations are tidy and cozy.

Tuan Ngoc Hotel
- Traveler rating: 8.7/10

A favorite among travelers is this motel because of its terrace bar and swimming pool. The family-run Tuan Ngoc Hotel provides visitors with a standard array of tour, rental, and subsequent transportation services.
The six-bunk dorm has the cheapest beds available. If you’d want to upgrade, there are also reasonably priced double, triple, and quad rooms available. Complimentary breakfast is included in the nightly price.
Tam Coc Boutique Garden
- Traveler rating: 8.9/10
- From 31 USD/night
This boutique hotel’s floor-to-ceiling windows and exposed brick walls epitomize lakeside charm. Since it’s a fresh build, everything is immaculate. The rooms are centered around a garden and kind of seem like glass boxes.
Warm decor and heaters make this a fantastic option for the winter, while the outside bar is a bonus in the summer. There are king, double, twin, and family rooms available, each with an adjacent bathroom. Free bicycles are another perk of staying at Tam Coc Boutique Garden, and breakfast is included in the nightly cost.
Muong Village Ninh Binh
- Traveler rating: 9.0/10
- From 35 USD/night
Muong Village has luxurious cottages that are affordable and centered around a stunning garden and stream. A highlight is the dining sala with views of the sea and a thatched roof.
I love how the hotel is named for the indigenous Muong tribe, who employed the bamboo water wheels that are strewn around the grounds. These water wheels are also visible in the adjacent Pu Luong Nature Reserve.
Natural bamboo and wood, together with handcrafted items and traditional Vietnamese fabrics, adorn each exquisitely furnished home.
Mua Caves Ecolodge
- Traveler rating: 8.4/10
- From 36 USD/night
On our first trip to Ninh Binh, we stayed here, and we were glad we made the decision. Mua Caves Ecolodge offers great value in terms of price to quality. Just inside the Mua Cave complex entrance are the rooms (guests gain free admittance to the caverns and mountains).
The intimate double rooms have exposed rafters, huge pane-glass windows in the bathroom that look out directly onto a limestone formation, and exquisite décor and furnishings. Breakfast is provided and served at the restaurant on the premises.
Since it’s a little distance from Tam Coc, getting around will require your transportation. There are complimentary bicycles at the entrance gate. It’s a quiet, remote spot north of Hang Mua on the route to Trang An.
Tam Coc Hello Homestay
- Traveler rating: 9.7/10
- From 40 USD/night
This property, which was added to the Ninh Binh scene in 2018, consists of three tiny houses. The Tam Coc Hello Homestay is maintained by a local family, whose hospitality is highly praised by visitors.
All the bungalows have air conditioning, a separate bathroom that opens into it, and capacity for up to three persons. There are beautiful outdoor areas for visitors to enjoy as well as an on-site restaurant providing freshly prepared breakfasts and meals.
Like other hotels in Tam Coc, your hosts can assist with booking tours of Ninh Binh, motorbike rentals, and transfers. In the upcoming months, I anticipate that they will expand and build additional bungalows.
Tam Coc Horizon Bungalow
- Traveler rating: 9.8/10
- From 50 USD/night
It does not get much more “Ninh Binh” than this, sandwiched between a limestone karst and a paddy farm. Although Tam Coc Horizon Bungalow is quite remote, the Tam Coc boat pier is only a fifteen-minute stroll away.
I appreciate that anyone renting a scooter may easily access the property’s decent road access and lush landscaping. The true dealbreaker is this: There are many cave bungalows available on this site, which are the only ones I’ve seen in Ninh Binh. The outdoor baths are actually carved out of the karst rock.
Enjoy the complimentary breakfast and other meals outside, since the restaurant is partially housed in a cave. The bungalows themselves are tastefully decorated with high-quality bedding. There are triples, family-sized bungalows, and double bungalows with super king beds.
Ninh Binh Hidden Charm Hotel & Resort
- Traveler rating: 9.0/10
- From 120 USD/night
One of the most exquisite lodging options in Northern Vietnam for questions about Where to stay in Ninh Binh is Ninh Binh Hidden Charm, which boasts large rooms and decor to match any five-star hotel chain. The luxurious mattresses, floor-to-ceiling drapes, and dark wood flooring are all excellent choices.
The fact that it seems and feels a little cut off from the outer world is our only complaint, but sometimes you want your hotel to be your secret retreat.
In addition to offering double and twin beds, family rooms may accommodate up to four people. Our personal favorites are the beautifully designed 75-square-meter rooms with separate sitting spaces, claw-foot bathtubs, and timber floors. There’s a fantastic pool and hot tub outside.
Although the main strip in Tam Coc is easily accessible by foot from this resort, it is nevertheless far enough away from the bustle to seem like a tranquil haven.
